Planning a Plastic Surgery Consultation in Seoul
Plan the consultation, interpretation and review visits before committing to an international surgical itinerary. Keep travel decisions tied to the treating clinician’s personal care plan.
Before arranging travel
Clarify whether the first discussion is informational or a clinical assessment, which clinician will see you and what records are needed. Previous operative notes and implant information can be particularly useful for revision discussions. Ask what can be discussed remotely and what requires an examination in Korea.
Confirm the location and language arrangements
READY publishes clinic addresses and listed opening hours in Seoul time. Confirm the building, floor, entrance and appointment time with the clinic before travel. Ask who provides interpretation and whether support is available for informed consent, medication instructions and postoperative communication.
Arrange reviews before booking a return flight
Ask the treating clinician to outline the anticipated in-person review schedule and the conditions for travel clearance. Recovery differs by patient and procedure. Keep flexibility for additional review and do not use a general online recovery timeline to decide your departure date.
Plan care after leaving Korea
Request copies of your treatment records, details of any implants or materials and a written follow-up plan. Clarify the contact process if concerns arise after returning home and whether the Korean clinic can coordinate with a local clinician. Know which questions can be handled remotely and which require an in-person assessment.
Keep your consultation documents together
Bring your questions, health history and earlier records to the appointment. Keep the proposed procedure, itemized quote, consent documents and follow-up plan together. The READY consultation checklist is saved in your browser and can be printed for your visit.

Who handles follow-up after surgery abroad?
Before travel, agree where reviews take place, who handles complications and how to obtain help after returning home. Ask what further treatment and any return journey would cost. A scheduled departure is not medical clearance to fly.
