Request the exact areas and procedures in the plan: lower face, neck, forehead or another combination. Clarify anesthesia, facility fees and reviews. A name such as mini-lift or SMAS facelift alone does not explain the full scope or price.
Ask the surgeon to identify the tissue and areas treated, incision locations and concerns that would remain. Compare the written operative plan rather than assuming that similarly named treatments at different clinics are equivalent.

A facelift addresses loose tissue around the lower face and sometimes the neck. Incisions, tissue repositioning and whether additional areas are treated depend on the operation. It may use general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation.
A general recovery reference is two to four weeks, although bruising and swelling can persist and the final effect may take several months. The clinic must give your individual review schedule.
Potential complications include nerve injury, altered facial movement or sensation, asymmetry, hair loss near scars and healing problems. Surgery also carries bleeding, infection, clotting and anesthesia risks.
A personal assessment should consider your health, goals, prior treatment and the limits of the proposed change. Ask whether a different approach, postponement or no treatment would better fit your circumstances. The clinician must explain which alternatives are relevant to you.
